$70 GAMES
From the prevalence of in-game monetization models to the increasing prices of hardware to the barrage of season passes and deluxe editions and what have you, we’re inundated by games looking to make a dent in our wallet, so it’s no surprise that games increasing their standard price to $70 is something that hasn’t gone down well with anyone. On PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, major publishers like Microsoft, Sony, EA, Activision, Take-Two Interactive, and Ubisoft have all started pricing their games at a standard $70 price. Hell, even Nintendo recently announced that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom would be a $70 game- and that’s releasing for a six year old tablet that was underpowered even at launch.
