We get it- multiplayer shooters are fun. Well, they can be, if the developers do them right and then continue to support them well. Often either one or both of those things don’t happen though. The free-to-play multiplayer shooter space has clearly seen a massive explosion in popularity over the last half decade or so, but that success has gone hand-in-hand with way too many pretenders and poorly-designed or poorly-supported games trying and failing to get a piece of that pie as well. Whether that wave will slow down to a trickle at any point in the relatively near future remains to be seen.
