A large chunk of the Metal Gear Solid fan following was due to the inclusion of strong characters in the game. Psycho Mantis was more than just that.
He screwed around with you with his psychokinesis and telepathy by turning the screen black, rumbling the gamepad and even reading the player’s memory card. The latter was easily the weirdest moment in video game history.
