Science isn’t about ‘why?’, it’s about ‘why not?!’ According to the late Cave Johnson, CEO of Aperture Sciences through the early days of the company while they experimented with the wacky such as physics altering gels to the insane, such as DNA manipulation and mind transference, resulting in some terrifying body horror being suggested. His endless pursuit of the crazy might have led to some neat guns, but only for the people who came out of the tests he began for the company still alive.
