The player controls Haytham throughout this prologue and he honestly seems like a good guy. However, he’s also a Templar, the de facto antagonistic faction of the Assassin’s Creed saga. While his son Connor does ally with him at a point and we see a different side of the conflict, Haytham is ultimately killed when the two clash.
