Companion AI
The beauty of open world games is that you are free to do whatever you want, released from restraints like mission structure. But you don’t always have to be alone. In Skyrim, companions will often get lost, take their own path, run away from due to a glitch in their AI. I remember spending over 200 hours in Skyrim and then Lydia got stuck running in a tree. Some open world games like MGS 5 do get companion’s right. The buddy system was phenomenal and other open world games can learn a thing or two from it.
