Mass Effect 2 takes what worked in developer BioWare’s space opera first outing and morphs those ideas into something far more focused and cinematic. Tightened shooting mechanics, improved mission pacing, and a memorable cast of squadmates are just some of the improvements this sequel brings over its predecessor. Every loyalty mission adds depth to the characters while directly impacting the game’s climactic finale which is easily one of the best moments of the entiCre generation, and that reinforces the importance of player choice in Mass Effect 2. The blend of RPG progression and third-person combat strikes a satisfying balance, and the branching narrative ensures you keep coming back for more.
