2K Unveil Hangar 13 Video Game Development Studio

An experienced veteran heads up the new 2K studio.

Today the hugely respected and well known video game developer and publisher 2K announced that they have formed and opened a brand new video game development studio. Named Hangar 13, the studio is based out of the 2K headquarters building which currently resides in the Bay Area of San Francisco and falls under the publishing label.

The development studio is currently work on a next generation title that has not yet been announced. Speaking about the new studio Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K, said “It was an easy choice bringing on a talented creative mind and proven leader like Haden Blackman to head our new 2K studio. Under Blackman’s direction, Hangar 13 will lead the charge in creating some of the most memorable AAA experiences of this generation.”

Blackman is an experienced developer having, in the past, worked as a writer with LucasArts Entertainment only to climb the promotional ladder and before Franchise Director for the entirety of the Star Wars video game franchises.
