It seems 3D Realms, the creators of first-person shooter Duke Nukem, Ion Fury, and Slipgate Ironworks are working on a new game, and it seems to be an RTS.
Revealed first on Twitter, Frederik Schreiber, the CEO of 3D Realms and Slipgate Ironworks, posted a small eight-second clip of a yet unannounced real-time strategy game. The clip shows a few soldiers wearing helmets with glowing eyes, and a vehicle crossing through an open grassy field.
Some speculated if the game is a new entry in EA’s long-running RTS series Command and Conquer. But that does not look like it, as a few comments down, when a user enquired if the game is going to be based on an existing IP or if it is a brand new one, Schreiber mentions that the game is going to be a brand new IP of its own.
This is the second tweet shared by Schreiber regarding the yet unannounced RTS, as the first mentions of it were done back on December 30 (which you can view below).
Nothing else has been revealed yet- after all, it is yet unannounced. So whether 3D Realms or Slipgate Ironworks are working on it, or both the studios together are, is yet to be confirmed. Regardless, it is exciting to wait for the reveal.
