3DS’ 3D can damage eyes, below six year olds advised to play 2D

Nintendo has announced on its official page that the 3DS’ 3D images can damages the eyes of all children below sic years of age, since those children’s eyes are still in their development stages, and so much strain can harm their muscles.

Also, since 3D causes eye fatigue much quicker than 2D, Nintendo has also advised everyone to take a break between their play every thirty minutes.

Back in June, Reggie Fils-Aime, head of Nintendo of America said: “We will recommend that very young children not look at 3D images. That’s because in young children, the muscles for the eyes are not fully formed… This is the same messaging that the industry is putting out with 3D movies, so it is a standard protocol. We have the same type of messaging for the Virtual Boy, as an example.”

Please don’t mention the Virtual Boy alongside the 3DS in the same sentence, or I will start fearing for the future of the company.
