3DS Giving Gamescom A Miss

Posted By | On 11th, Aug. 2010

Nintendo’s successor to its Nintendo DS handheld, the 3DS, got a hell of an unveiling at E3 earlier this year, with Nintendo devoting a sizeable chunk of their conference to the handheld wonder, which displays 3D graphics without the need for 3D glasses. However, it looks as if Nintendo is all set to ensure that the handheld gives the upcoming Gamescom show a miss.

The Nintendo lineup for the German games show, confirmed earlier today, is power packed, with titles such as Zelda: Skyward Sword, Metroid: Other M, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby’s Epic Yarn, Golden Sun Dark Dawn and Professor Layton and the Unwound Future. However, the 3DS is notable for its absence.

As it stands now, the 3DS has no launch date or pricing. We know the system is due for a launch before 31st March 2011, but that leaves for a pretty broad window. Thankfully, Nintendo has confirmed that it will be unveiling the launch date and price for the 3DS on 29th September, 2010.
