3DS sells 6.68 million units Worldwide

Posted By | On 27th, Oct. 2011

Nintendo revealed their financial report today where they posted a $900 million loss and also revealed the shipment figures for their hardware. Both the Wii and the DS is down compared to the last quarter but the 3DS sales have increased by 700k.

This brings the total sales to 6.68 million. The DS sales are at 149 million and the Wii has sold 89.36 million so far.

This is interesting because it is higher than what the DS was in the same time frame. It has to be noted that the 3DS underwent a major price drop to $160 almost compared to $250 launch price. It remains to be seen how it performs in the holidays with the big hitters finally gracing the platform.
