Warlock class is meant to be reminiscent of the space wizard
When you think of Warlock, the term spell user or male witch comes to mind, where the person can use and kill a lot of people using spells. In Destiny that almost rings true, because The Warlock is a Guardian class in Destiny that specializes in using or combining magic powers granted by The Traveler with modern weapons. However a fun fact was revealed in the GDC 2013 Panel where Bungie stated that the Warlock class is meant to be some-what similar of the “space wizard,” and they used influences like the Star Wars series’ Jedi knights.
