People pointing make-believe guns at each other and shooting imaginary bullets causing imaginary death. Innocent fun, right? Unfortunately, it was reminiscent of too many mass shootings around the world, and thus caused a lot of controversy around the web. Personally I thought the ad was quite well done and original. The commercial just showcases just how fun multiplayer gaming can be and when you factor the “Jump In” tag line, that anyone, hard-core or mainstream, could have fun. The banning of the commercial is not the focus really; the focus was how a commercial can help sell a console. And some people just didn’t think this would help.
