There’s no particular scene in Gears of War 3’s beginning that has a huge impact. It’s the entire first act that, when put together as a whole, delivers one of the most satisfying and explosive (literally and figuratively) beginnings we’ve ever seen in games. The sections on the ship were awesome, the boss battle at the end was great, and the fact that we got to play as Cole made it much better than it already was.
