4. Pokemon

Just like Assassin's Creed and FIFA, Pokemon games are accused of following a formula and sticking to it to the core. With Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, I almost jumped on the hate bandwagon. But then Game Freak gave us Pokemon Black.White. Not only are B/W amazing games, they also shake up the formula fairly well, focussing more on story and presentation than ever before, and adding several new things to the mix that made Pokemon Black/White not only the freshest, but also the best Pokemon games in a long time.
