You as a team leader can hand pick each and every player that you seem fit in the game. Out of thousands of player, you can vet each one and see who would want to be your friend or carry out a onetime mission for you. Either way it is a cool option that Rockstar implemented for you, as you have a buffet of choices to choose from, provided they will be your friend or go along with the plan.
