Professor Hugo Strange knows that Bruce Wayne is Batman and tries every tactic to push Batman’s buttons, hoping that he will fail. Hugo thinks he is superior in every way and to that extent he wants to know everything there is to know about Batman. Hence he makes this glib statement that is in poor taste.
