Leaked Xbox 720 devkit was real, say devs

An Xbox 720 Durango development kit which went on sale for $10,000 is real, according to a report.

The dev kit was listed on ASSEMblergames.com by user DaE with images they had taken, offering the kit for $10,000, but was initially dismissed as a forgery.

‘Reliable’ sources have told Digital Foundry that these leaked pictures were genuine. The source also state that these kits were released to developers back in February of this year, featuring NVidia cards and Intel CPUs.

The dev kit is also rumoured to have at least 8gb of memory, with other sources suggesting as much as 12gb, as well as 64-bit architecture and DirectX 11 support.

Final console specifications are expected to differ from development kits as these kits are usually speculative indications at system capabilities, often including double the amount of memory to accomodate for debugging tools.
