‘DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue’ Announced In Detail With A Trailer Already

Posted By | On 07th, Sep. 2010

A sequel to a pretty good arcade game has been announced already entitled “DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue”.  You didn’t read that wrong either, there are thongs in this game that play a significant role, as the trailer will show you.  The original one simply titled ‘DeathSpank’, was just released July 14th for the Xbox 360 Arcade, Playstation Network and PC.  Hothead Games and Ron Gilbert, who brought us the Secret of Monkey Island, were not slow to jump on a sequel for this Action/RPG.

If you played the first game don’t expect any levels or skills to carry over.  Thongs of Virtue promises to have more of a variety of quests as well as environments, enemies and everyone’s favorite, a bigger variety of more loot droppage.  There will be more puzzles as well as more bosses, each of which will be sporting a different color thong.  The first DeathSpank was more of a hack and slash, RPG while there being only one ranged weapon as well as a magic spell that could be used from a distance.  DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue has changed that aspect, adding a whole slew of weapons the the game compared the first one where all you can use is a cross-bow.

“Deathspank: Thongs of Virtue” comes out for the Xbox 360 on September 21st while Playstation 3 users will have to wait another entire day to get their thong on.. on September 22nd.  No word yet on if the game will see a PC release yet or for any other platform for that matter.
