MCV has reported, after collecting figures from several retailers, that Nintendo’s Wii U has sold out in the UK during its launch weekend, selling 40,000 units in just 48 hours.
Retailers are saying that the Wii U has effectively sold out on the UK High Street. While stocks are trickling in from Nintendo’s end, the system isn’t supposed to go fully in stock once again until after New Year.
The report also says that the Wii U currently has a software attach rate of 2:1, and that does not even include digital games sold through the Wii U’s eShop- which means only retail games are being counted. That’s a very good attach rate for the system.
Nintendo earlier that reported that if and when the Wii U sold out in UK during launch- they believed it probably would- they have have sufficient systems to send in for another stock. Read the full story here.
