EA has announced that Origin will be released for all Mac owning audiences soon, and that some of them can already try it out through the open alpha the online service has just entered on the OS.

“Mac gamers rejoice,” says EA, as it announces that Origin for Mac will be “launching soon”.

Mac’s alpha for Origin currently doesn’t have the Store button, or the Twitch streaming, but both of them will be available in the final version of the service (well, duh), and Twitch streaming, EA says, will be added “as soon as possible”.

If you do get into the alpha, you get a free copy of PopCap’s Bookworm, and you get to keep it.

Only a “few thousand” people can enter the alpha, so you might want to hurry up and download the client here.

Do you own a Mac? If you do, are you interested? Tell us in your comments.
