No QTEs in Beyond: Two Souls – Report

Polygon is reporting that Beyond: Two Souls will be a really ambitious game and this is another risky project from him and not just Heavy Rain 2.

“I make games because I want to discover. So [with] each game, I take risks,” Cage told the site. “It would have been a very easy decision for me to make Heavy Rain 2; same game, different story, different characters and here you go. It probably would have sold more copies then than Heavy Rain, but I’m in this industry because I’m passionate and fascinated by it … I just want to experiment.

“So expect something quite different with Beyond … and after Beyond.”

This is a really interesting piece of news because David Cage admits that the QTE mechanic turned off many players despite the positive reviews.

The new gameplay mechanics will be something similar to what are called games. The game doesn’t have a release date but it scheduled to be released this year exclusively for the PS3.
