Age of Empires 2 HD announced, pricing and trailer inside

Age of Empires 2 gets a makeover and will be hitting Steam soon. The game will be launching on April 9 on Steam and is Steamworks enabled. The game costs $20.

We also have the minimum system requirements for the game and since it is HD it will actually run on all the latest Windows OS.

The game is being updated by Hidden Path Entertainment of Defense Grid series and Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

Those who preorder the game will be able to play on April 5 and will also receive a 10% discount.

“Age of Empires II HD Edition includes every single-player campaign from the Age of Kings original and the Conquerors expansion, totaling 18 in all. In addition, gamers can challenge other Steam players through the game’s online mode,” the press release reads.

According to Microsoft, Age of Empires II HD Edition has been remastered for high-resolution displays at 1080p. It also includes an “enhanced visual engine” sporting improved textures for terrain, water and fire, and ambient lighting effects.
