EA has released a statement confirming Madden NFL 25 won’t be released on the Wii U. It’s the first time since 1991, a Madden game has not been released on a Nintendo platform.
This shows that third-parties really have problems with the system and despite EA’s assurances about strong support for Nintendo, we aren’t seeing any benefits of that.
FIFA 14 has not been confirmed for the system as well. Based on how NFL 25 isn’t being released for the system, things aren’t looking too good as far as third-party support is concerned.
Here’s EA statement on the matter:
“We will not be releasing a Wii U version of Madden NFL in 2013. However, we have a strong partnership with Nintendo and will continue to evaluate opportunities for delivering additional Madden NFL products for Nintendo fans in the future.”
