Dragon Age Saves Will ‘Absolutely Carry Over” To Inquisition

"Your choices matter."

Dragon-Age-3

The third title in the Dragon Age series, Inquisition, is due sometime next year, and Bioware and EA have been steadily drumming up hype for the game that looks like it might address the faults of the much maligned Dragon Age II. One of the primary problems that has cropped up whenever discussing the game, however, has been a discussion regarding cross game save file compatibility- like with Bioware’s other flagship franchise, Dragon Age games have save files that carry from game to game and subtly change the experience based on the choices and decisions you make. However, owing to the fact that Inquisition will be on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One, none of which are backwards compatible with their predecessors, the question has remained up in the air regarding save file transfers with this game.

Well, now we have finally got some official word on the matter, and it is probably what you wanted to hear.

Speaking at PAX Australia, Bioware producer Cameron Lee had this to say:

“We know what we want to do. It will absolutely come across – your decisions carry and they will matter.”

“The goal,” added Patrick Weekes writer for Bioware, “is that you can have an equally rich experience no matter which platform you’re playing on.”

It is entirely possible that Bioware are looking to take advantage of a cloud storage tool for save files from the previous two games. Then again, they might also be looking at interactive comics that players need to go through before starting the game proper, not unlike the comics that prologued the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 and the Wii U version of Mass Effect 3.
