Last year, Ubisoft released Assassin’s Creed: Liberation, a side story/spin off companion game for the PlayStation Vita, that told the story of female assassin Aveline, and was, many would argue, superior even to the console entry Assassin’s Creed III. However, the game’s audience was, by definition, limited, as it released on Somy’s struggling (then and now) handheld system.
Now, however, everyone can get in on the action. The HD up-port for consoles, announced by Ubisoft a few weeks ago, will officially be hitting the PSN Store on January 14, 2014. The Xbox 360 version, while yet undated, should be expected to launch on or around the same date.
The up-port will feature enhanced graphics and sound, refinements to gameplay (that hopefully iron out all the dreadful bugs), fixes and additional levels as well. It should, in other words, reinvigorate the game in much the same way that Mirror of Fate HD promises to do to its original 3DS game.
