Kalypso Media’s Rise of Venice has gotten ‘Beyond the Sea,’ an add on pack that adds to the strategic political simulator.

Described as a ‘comprehensive expansion,’ the add on adds thirteen new cities for the player to discover, and then trade with, along with giving them new Residence missions, as well as new Doge tasks. ‘Beyond the Sea’ also allows players to command a completely new class of ship; the NAO, the famous ship class in which Christopher Columbus discovered America in 1492.

The title expands the game world by more than 50% from what it was in the original game, and in addition to all the big changes listed above, adds in enhancements and improvements to the game based on player feedback from playing the original Rise of Venice.

‘Beyond the Sea’ goes on sale starting today, and it is available digitally for Windows PCs for £14.99/ €19.99/$19.99. No retail release or release for OS X or Linux has been announced yet.
