Mortal Kombat Live Action Web Series Trailer is Awesome

Now the old Mortal Kombat Movies based on the video game were OK, with a side of corny. Kevin Tancharoen will direct a 10-episode web series dedicated to the Mortal Kombat video games.  This short fil will be shot in Vancouver this February. The cast will most likely include Shang Tsung, Liu Kang, Sub Zero, Durak, Kabal, Kitana/Mileena, Reptile, Sonya Blade, Briggs and Scorpion, played by actors such as Tancharoen, Todd Helbing, Aaron Helbing, and Michael Jai White (Spawn) as “Major Jackson ‘Jax’ Briggs among others.  No other details are known about the project other than the plot is as usual a tournament being held will to fight to save the planet.  The new game will be out on April 19th, 2011 for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
