EA’s online digital service, Origin, is going to ditch physical discs completely starting April 4, meaning the service will go all digital. If you want a buy a game for PC or Mac, Origin will allow you to purchase it digitally, but unfortunately, you won’t be able to go the physical disc route.

“What does this mean for you?” EA said in its blog post titled A Fond Farewell to Discs! “If you’re among 99 per cent of our users, absolutely nothing. Your shopping experience hasn’t changed one single bit.

“But if you’re that 1 per cent who still desires a physical collection, we want to let you know that Origin won’t be able to fulfill that need beginning April 4th. We’ll still be here when you transition your gaming habits to the wonders of digital downloads.

“Digital is fast and convenient. Origin’s focus is to give gamers the best experience, and going all-digital will make that possible.”

So, are you in the 99% that use Origin as a digital-only a service? Tell us in your comments.
