EA Sports’ NHL hockey games are generally rather good. They have never been as exceptionally awesome as their FIFA games are, nor have they been as exceptionally horrible as their NBA Live games have been- they are just good, trucking away in the background every year.
And so, there will be another one this year as well. EA Sports has announced that NHL 15 will be releasing this year in the Fall, and that it will be ‘launching an all new generation of hockey games’ in the process.
EA is promising that the ‘Superstar Skill Stick and Vision AI allow for an unprecedented level of control and elevated player intelligence,’ which should make for an immersive game. In fact, EA seem to be pretty serious about the immersion factor, as they are even working on the one thing no sports game usually bothers with- the crowds. EA is promising that players will ‘play in front of a full house of fans created with 9,000 dynamic and individual crowd models, the most ever in a sports video game.’
NHL 15 launches later this year. Stay tuned for more coverage, and in the mean time, watch the first trailer and tell us what you think.
