Space Marines take on Genestealers on PS4 next year.

Today, Streum On Studios revealed Space Hulk: Deathwing on the PlayStation Blog. The game, which is set to release on the PlayStation 4 in 2015, is based on Games Workshop’s classic Space Hulk board game. The game, set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, runs on Unreal Engine 4 and follows a group of Space Marines as they fight off hordes of alien Genestealers aboard the titular Space Hulk.

Unlike previous Space Hulk games, Deathwing is a first-person shooter. Players take the role of a Space Marine from one of the most feared and respected of the Space Marine Companies: the Deathwing from the Dark Angels Chapter. Players can choose between Terminators (heavy troopers), and Librarians (Space Marines with psychic powers), and gain points that they can spend in one of four talent trees to improve, unlock, and enhance their abilities, weapons, and armor as they search the Space Hulk treasure or lost and ancient technology.

It looks like a cool take on an old formula, and the game does a good job of capturing Warhammer 40,000’s unique art style. We can only hope the gameplay lives up to what has been shown so far.
