For their highly anticipated upcoming first person shooter/MMORPG hybrid Destiny, Bungie has gone ahead and announced a limited edition for the game. It’s called Destiny: The Ghost Edition, and though it comes with some pretty good stuff, it’s shockingly expensive. To be precise, it’s $150.

You want to know what other stuff you can get for $150? An Xbox 360. Or a PS3 (although you might have to hunt for one that cheap). A Wii, PSP, or DS. If you want a current generation machine, both PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS are $150. A Wii U is just $50 more on the Nintendo Store.

You put in $50 more, and you can get yourself a smartphone that is top of the line. You can buy yourself a Nexus 7.

So while Destiny may be awesome- keyword may, we don’t actually know what it will be like yet- the idea of spending that much money on it? Simply doesn’t make sense to me.

In any case, if you do decide you have money enough to burn to be spending that kind of an obscene amount on one game, here’s what all you’ll be getting with the package:

  • Limited Edition SteelBook Case and Game Disc
  • Ghost Replica
  • Letter of Introduction
  • Golden Age Relics
  • Guardian Folio, containing:
    • “Arms and Armament” Field Guide
    • Postcards from the Golden Age
    • Antique Star Chart
  • Collector’s Edition Digital Content
    • Unique Ghost Casing
    • An Exclusive Player Emblem
    • An Exclusive Player Ship Skin
    • Includes the Destiny Expansion Pass

If you think that’s all worth it, great! Go for it! For people who want those goodies without spending that kind of money, you can technically just pick up the Limited Edition, which has all of that, without the Ghost, and costs ‘only’ $99.

Destiny launches later this year for PlayStation and Xbox platforms.
