Shuhei Yoshida Hopeful Rise of the Tomb Raider Will Come to PS4 Eventually

'I hope it will come out, but how can I tell you for sure?'

One of the biggest (and most unexpected) announcements to come out of Gamescom last week was the announcement that the sequel to last year’s excellent reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise would be exclusive to Xbox… for a period of time, at least. The wording was specific, and ambiguous, and there was a massive backlash, at which point the deal was revealed to be one of timed exclusivity.

Nevertheless, in this case, as of right now at least, the game making its way over to PlayStation at any point of time in the future is still up in the air. The boss of Sony Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, is hopeful that the game eventually makes it over, but also reiterates that he doesn’t know anything about if it will.

“That question has to be asked to Square Enix and Microsoft,” Yoshida said to Eurogamer. “I hope the game will come out eventually on PS4. But how can I tell?”

How can he tell, indeed.
