Microsoft may have bought Mojang, but that doesn’t change the fact that Minecraft will continue to be on a variety of competing platforms, including, yes, PlayStation. The PlayStation 4 edition of Minecraft has been a long time coming, but now that we’re almost there, Sony has made another promise to ensure that the game gets exposed to the widest audience possible on the PS4- they have confirmed that they will also be selling a disc version of the game at retail, which should help this specific version get even more visibility than it otherwise would, being Minecraft and everything.
But GamingBolt, what about the PS Vita version of the game, you ask? Is that just vaporware at this point? Is there even any chance of it being pushed out now that Microsoft owns the brand?
Well, yes. Here’s the official statement from Sony.
“For those waiting for the PS Vita Edition, we’ll have more information on this in a few weeks and will include full details on how the Cross-Buy works between the PS3 and PS Vita Editions,”Sony Computer Entertainment Europe product manager Kimberley Piper-Bowles said.
Alright then. PlayStation Minecraft fans, stand by.
