Activision Taking Down Videos Showing Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Glitches

Honestly, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is one of the big non Nintendo releases of this year that didn’t ship with a plethora of game breaking glitches and bugs that completely ruin the experience. That said, it apparently did have some of them, and they have been making great fodder for YouTube videos so far.

So far. You see Activision is now going ahead and taking down all videos that showcase glitches, bugs, and exploit in the game. Amazingly enough, they are exclusively targeting videos that only showcase bugs and glitches, and when confronted with allegations of censorship, they are brushing those aside.

“Activision is being particularly vigilant about their Call of Duty videos lately; issuing strikes on videos showing glitches. If you post videos highlighting these glitches, your channel may be liable to receive a copyright strike so please be careful,” said popular games video site and channel, Machinama.

“We’re excited that so many fans are having fun playing the game and posting videos of their gameplay. We love watching the videos ourselves. Occasionally, some folks post videos that promote cheating and unfair exploits. As always, we keep an eye out for these videos – our level of video claims hasn’t changed,” Activision said in a statement to Eurogamer.

“We are appreciative of the community’s support in helping to ensure that everyone has the best playing experience possible.”

Copyright strikes suck, and can basically completely hamstring your YouTube account and the features available to you. Activision’s move to target specifically videos showing glitches and bugs comes off as fishy and in bad faith, and seriously makes it seem like they have something to hide.
