The spectacular visual novel, Steins;Gate, has long been considered to be one of the hallmarks of the genre. For all this time, it has also been mostly exclusive to Japan, and, shockingly enough, to Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console. All of that ends next year, when PQube brings Steins;Gate to the west, finally, on the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita.

The success of steins;Gate, it’s time paradox fueled science fiction/horror mystery plot, and its characters, all of which have led to the property becoming a full fledged media IP in Japan, complete with manga and anime adaptations, has so far not been well reflected in the west at all. But given the west’s recent uptake of visual novels, such as Ace Attorney, Danganronpa, Persona, and of course, 999, hopefully Steins;Gate will find the success it so thoroughly deserves as well, when it releases here.

Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage and information on the game.
