Rise of the Tomb Raider

Some new information surrounding the upcoming game, Rise of the Tomb Raider following an interview from the games director Brian Horton. The weapon of choice for Lara in her previous adventure was a bow and a quiver of arrows, this could of course be supplemented with rifles and shotguns, but the bow was where the fun was to be had.
In Rise of the Tomb Raider, Lara will be able to use a number of different bow types, but whether or not this means the player can create their own bow remains to be seen. It may be a safe bet to say the Compound Bow will return.

The game is also going to feature an entirely new mechanic, a day and night cycle. This will of course fundamentally change how the game is played as Lara was able to make use of stealth skills in Tomb Raider. This new day and night cycle may also play into how some of the worlds puzzles are solved.

Speaking about bringing the game world to life, Horton says “The sophistication we’re bringing to gameplay is as much as the sophistication we’re bringing to the graphics, and I find that extremely exciting. We’re not going with one single look throughout the entire game.” The game is hopefully going to feature extreme weather events and may include avalanches in certain areas if the developers can get them working, and here’s hoping they do.
