This is a thing. More importantly, it is a thing with a sequel. That means that it was successful and popular enough to get said sequel. This baffles me on multiple levels, not just because I am puzzled as to how a popular game managed to slip me by entirely, but also because I am wondering just who in the world asked for something this patently absurd- and then proceeded to ask for more of it.
Blood Bowl, you see, combines the high octane excitement of American football with… er, with the fantasy world of Warhammer. I’m serious. If you don’t believe me, you can check out the gameplay trailer up the4re for yourself.
Anyway, Blood Bowl II was just announced, and we also got the first gameplay footage. In this first gameplay video, the famous Human team Reikland Reavers perform some of the basic moves that make the core gameplay mechanics of a Blood Bowl match: running, passing, catching, blocking, blitzing. simple actions that take a whole new level when we take into consideration the game’s 75 different skills that Blood Bowl players can innately have, or learn upon levelling up! Humans are great all-rounders: they are equally at home running the ball, passing it, or ignoring it and pounding the opposition into the turf instead. However, being jacks-of-all-trades also means they do not excel in any domain in particular.
Blood Bowl will be out on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Stay tuned.
