Amid the swirling vortex of insanity that saw Hideo Kojima make ready to depart Konami and the temporary cancellation of the Kojmia Station, a slew of details for Metal Gear Online have come to light. Speaking by way of Twitter, Konami Los Angeles Studio answered some questions and doled out some information on what to expect in Metal Gear Online. They are, for example, working on their own ways of countering cheating players, much to the delight of gamers.

They also announced that there are no plans to have a three team mode; if players drop out of the match, then the game will continue, but some fans were worried the game would play more like Call of Duty, the studio replied that the game has never been designed to be that way.

Feedback from fans is being used to shape the game as it develops and working on the project are a number of dedicated designers and even some fans of previous Metal Gear Online games. While not giving too much detail about the games progression system, the studio has said “‘Balance and sense of fun throughout are paramount to a good multiplayer experience regardless of intent.’”

The studio also mentioned that all the maps are designed to be playable in all of the available game modes, this may mean there aren’t many maps to begin with and that there will instead just be multiple modes of play within them.
