Following the Assassin’s Creed: Unity debacle, it’s pretty clear that Ubisoft is working its tail off in order to make sure that Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate is a success. One of the biggest ways the team is apparently working to do this is to make the game’s setting, London a living breathing city that feels as authentic as possible. In the latest official Xbox Magazine, Ubisoft creative director Marc-Alexis Côté talked about their plans and goals for the game, including how London is going to work.

“Our biggest investment, without a doubt, is in the city itself. In creating a city that lives and breathes. A city that is, for the first time in the history of the franchise, full of movement.” Côté said. He added that the city is divided into a number of different burroughs and the Ubisoft team feels that the key to making London feel as real as possible is by making these burroughs feel different. The team wants to make it feel as though players really have traveled from one location to another. Not just a slightly different section of the same block over and over. In particular, Côté wants to make sure when players travel from the riches of Westminster to the poverty of Whitechapel, they know it.

This living city is hardly the only new addition to the game, vehicles have been added to Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate as well and the company feels this move will be a gamechanger. Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate will launch on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC on October 23.
