Now that some people have gotten invites to the Star Wars: Battlefront Alpha, we’re starting to learn a bit more about what EA and DICE have planned. Part of the invitation included the specs needed on the PC for people who actually want to get in and test the game out. One piece of interesting news that Community Manager Mathew Everett clarified (thanks to a redditor) is that these specs are for the Alpha only and may not be the ones the developers go with when the game is ready to ship.
“I wanted to make this fairly clear for anyone who is wondering about the min spec for Star Wars Battlefront. The Alpha min spec requirements are for the Alpha only. These are not final and should not be taken as final. Now if you did get an Alpha invite and want to participate. You will need a system that meets the minimum requirements.” Everett said. There was a piece of bad news, for those who were getting excited about seeing all the game had to offer. Everett also made sure to lay out the fact that there aren’t going to be any Death Star playable maps in the Alpha. He did add that what maps will be available will be explained soon.
For those hoping to get to the front of the line when it comes to actually getting into the Alpha, it appears the EA and DICE aren’t going to be playing favorites. The people who get into the Alpha will be chosen completely randomly. The finished product for Star Wars: Battlefront launches November 17.
