Konami’s Blunders Continue, Call Themselves “Demons” On Twitter Only To Remove It Later

Yeah sure, you are "Demons" alright.

Hideo Kojima

After Geoff Keighley publicly called out Konami for legally pressuring Hideo Kojima not to attend and collect his award at The Game Awards last night, the Japan based company received a lot of bad press and flak. After working in the same company for almost 30 long years and most likely making them millions in the process, the last thing Konami would do is to treat Kojima like a hostage and not even allow the man to meet his friends and industry personalities. And this is exactly what Konami did.

As a long time Metal Gear Solid fan and as someone who has played most games from Konami for almost 25 years, it’s disappointing that Konami is not even a reflection of its former shelf. Although the company is committed to a new Metal Gear game, with or without Kojima, some part of me believes that they no longer care about AAA games and ultimately both Metal Gear and PES will be driven into the ground.

After watching The Game Awards, I started browsing Konami’s official Twitter account. And much to my surprise, the Konami’s Twitter description read: “Official account of Konami Digital Entertainment Inc! We are already demons. I took a screenshot which you can check below [a cached version can be found here]. Hilariously they removed it afterwards, perhaps they did not wanted to associate the word Demon with Konami, specially after what happened at The Game Awards.

what is going on konami lol!

Becoming Demons is one of themes of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain wherein the player can become evil and kill everyone and grow a long demonic horn. You are getting the relation now? Demon, Konami and Kojima?
