Phil Spencer has been rather busy on Twitter in the last few days, answering a number of questions about the upcoming plans of Microsoft for the Xbox One, as well as talking about how much he believes 2016 is going to be a good year for brand new IPs. Those comments in particular are interesting considering that 2015 was a big year for remasters and remakes.

Spencer was asked specifically about when a new list of backwards compatible games was going to be coming and he responded on Twitter his team was finalizing the list and it would likely be coming in Mid-December. When it comes to the new games,. Spencer talked about Scalebound, Recore, and Sea of Thieves but he also confirmed that Microsoft has not announced it’s full lineup for 2016 just yet.

That comment especially, should get people excited to see what Spencer and company have up their sleeves. In the past, he’s also made quite a few comments about ways he would like to change the UI and dashboard in the Xbox One to make it even more user friendly. One particular change he’s talked about is adding background music in new and interesting ways. He also said he wasn’t in a huge rush to get that done, but 2016 might be the time he can accomplish some of those tasks. Finally, Spencer said he and his team are working on ways to actually show Xbox 360 games that are backwards compatible on the Xbox One in the official store. He didn’t say when this would be completed.
