Hideo Kojima Contractually Forbidden From Talking About Konami Split

Hideo Kojima and Konami have now officially split. It didn’t take long for Konami to go about its business as nothing major had happened, considering they have already put up an ad looking for people to work on another Metal Gear Solid game.

For his part, Kojima has just opened up his very own production studio and appears to be plenty excited about getting that off the ground. While everything is supposedly sunshine and roses for both parties, there are clearly some things that are still wanting to be left out of the public eye. In  a new interview with The New Yorker, it was revealed that there are certain clauses in his old contract that will apparently keep him from ever discussing exactly why Konami and Kojima ended their long running relationship.

In the meantime, Konami still looks like they’re being quite mean spirited about the whole thing, considering they wouldn’t even allow Kojima to come and received numerous awards for his work. That’s a rather large slap in the face when you take into account that the director has been the man at the helm of all of the major iterations of the Metal Gear Solid series. The man is truly a legend when it comes to his work on this series. Konami moving on this quickly, while not allowing Kojima to actually talk about is likely not going to sit well with his contemporaries.
