Earlier this week, the Sony PlayStation Network was suffering outages across the board which lasted long enough that people thought there might be another hack going on. After several hours of the network being down, the company was finally able to get every up and running and seemed to be handling the fallout quite a bit better and quite a bit quicker than it has in the past.

It appears Sony has actually learned from past mistakes when it comes to outages and whatnot, the company had been relatively slow to let everyone know there was a problem and then to react to getting it back online. This time, the company made it clear on its official website that everything was totally back to being up and running and since the PlayStation Network has gone back online, there haven’t been any reports of additional problems. Sony has not yet shed any light on why the network was down in the first place.

Because they aren’t commenting on that, we don’t yet know whether Sony knows yet what exactly caused the network to go down, or they just aren’t talking about it. At least Sony is planning on making good for the period of time the network is down. The company said there will be new details soon about PS Plus, PS Now and video rental extensions. This outage comes on the heels of Sony having some issues with its email verification system.
