It appears that Microsoft might be looking to do even more than it already is when it comes to digital gaming and streaming games. Currently the company has allowed people who have an Xbox One and Windows 10 to stream their games on the console over to their Windows 10 PC. Now there is apparently talk about allowing gamers to digitally share their Xbox One games with their friends.
Xbox’s Mike Ybarra recently sat down with Game Informer to talk about a number of different issues and among those was whether or not digitally sharing games might eventually be coming down the pike. According to the exec, he and his team are definitely looking into the situation:
“We’re looking at both from a Windows standpoint – well, what’s our policy of the Windows Store? How many people can play concurrent? How do you share? We’re going to merge those two topologies soon so that a whole new model for how you share games across that will be in place. We’re actively working on that now to try to figure [it out], but we want to get to a much simpler model and potentially one that lets you do more… have a little bit more freedom in what you can and can’t do,” Ybarra said.
It should be pointed out that right now, it doesn’t appear as if an easy way to share your games digitally with other users is coming in the very near future. But given that Microsoft is at least talking about it seems to indicate that such a feature may land up on the Xbox One after all.
