Dark Souls 3

The minimum requirements for the PC version of Dark Souls 3 have been revealed just a few days after we got our first look at the gameplay courtesy of the SXSW festival. It’s no coincidence that we’re getting more information about From Software’s latest. After all, Dark Souls 3 is going to be launching in just a few weeks.

Neogaf user Bl@de is the one who has provided these minimum requirements after translating from a German website who were among the first to get their hands on the information. Among the tidbits that are now out there is that the game is set to run at 60fps, though that appears to be as good as it’s going to get, even with in-game tweaks. The developers have said a computer with a Dual Core CPU will be able to start the game just fine, though From Software has not said what that CPU will be able to do in the long run when it comes to performance. There are also no specific settings for HBAO+/MSAA/SMAA. SSAO ranges from Low to High and AA is simply ON and Off. According to the report, a GTX 770 is more than enough to run the game at 60fps at its highest settings. However take this with a grain of salt.

Dark Souls 3 is built on the Bloodborne engine, which makes sense since that was the last game the developers released. For those who want to get a look at what the game is going to look like with different min and max settings, you can check out the video below. Dark Souls 3 is due to launch on the PS4, PC and Xbox One on April 12, 2016.
