Kojima-Performance-Capture

On Wednesday, Hideo Kojima began to give us a few hints at the next project he’s working on, which appears to be a game for Sony. He put a couple of pictures of his workspace up on Twitter and those pics started rumors that he might be working with Norman Reedus once again. Kojima and Reedus were set to collaborate on Silent Hills, a horror survival game that would reboot that much beloved series. Then Konami announced the company and Kojima were going to part ways and Silent Hills was placed on the scrap heap.

The latest hints from Kojima haven’t cleared up the picture any when it comes to figuring out what project he’s working on, but he did shed some light on the technology he’ll be using. The famed game director talked about how motion capture tech has changed, taking to Twitter saying “When I started Mocap it was magnetic and not wireless. It’s been 18 years since then. This time I’ve chosen the latest tech called Pcap [performance capture] by using virtual camera. Technology always evolves and it changes our way of developing but it’s always fun to work on this.”

Along with that message he posted more pictures of the equipment he was using to work on the, as yet unnamed game he’s working on. For now you’ll just have to check them out below and wait for more information. As much info as he’s dropping these days, it seems likely we’ll get solid news soon.
