Final Fantasy 15 promises to be a more frenetic and engaging game than any previous game in the series- a lot of which has to do with its new battle system, which is real time and oriented towards the action gameplay style. However, it turns out that Square Enix was worried about this- they were worried that this might all be too much for an absolute newcomer to handle, which led to the inclusion of an Easy Mode in the game. That turned out to be another agonizing decision, because Final Fantasy has never allowed fans to select difficulty levels before- and it was only when series creator Hironobu Sakaguchi endorsed the Easy Mode that game director Hajime Tabata felt comfortable adding it.

Sakaguchi apparently ended up giving a lot of feedback for the game to Tabata and his team. Apparently, when he first saw the game, he felt that the character animations were ‘creepy,’ and he said as much. This led to a change in the animations- and as anyone who has seen the game in action, either in one of its many trailers, or the demos, will attest to, the animations look very realistic, and anything but creepy now.

You can get more anecdotes on Final Fantasy 15‘s development in this new interview, in English, that Japanese magazine Famitsu postedFinal Fantasy 15 is due out on the Xbox One and PS4 on September 30.
